MONTRÉAL (August 18, 2025) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labour law practice representing management, has further strengthened its global platform with the opening of an office in Montréal, Québec and the addition of Olivia Girouard as of counsel. Girouard joins the firm from Globalization Partners (G-P), an Employer of Record and provider of global employment solutions.

Littler’s expansion into Montréal builds on the momentum of its Toronto office, which opened in 2015 and has experienced notable growth as the rising demand for labour and employment services across the region continues to increase. In addition to the market demands, the Toronto office welcomed eight new attorneys, including four partners, underscoring its commitment to attracting top-tier talent and bolstering its capabilities in Canada. Globally, Littler has more than 95 offices and is licensed to practice in nearly 40 countries, enabling the firm to provide seamless, cross-border support for Canadian and multinational employers.

“Canada is a fast-growing market for the firm and opening a new office in Montréal – alongside a strategic hire like Olivia – will give us the added and distinct capabilities to serve clients throughout the country,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Our growth is keeping pace with the accelerating demand for sophisticated labour and employment counsel and this latest expansion reinforces our deep bench of local talent and long-term commitment to the region. We’re excited to continue serving both the Canadian business community and the multinationals operating within it.”

Girouard is a bilingual labour and employment lawyer who advises clients in both English and French on a broad range of workplace matters, including the development of workplace policies and employment contracts, workers’ compensation matters, workplace health and safety issues, terminations and disciplinary actions, discrimination complaints, and psychological harassment. She also represents clients in workplace-related disputes, including in mediation, conciliation, and before courts and tribunals. Girouard’s experience also involves advising on workplace investigations and conducting trainings on human resources matters.

“We’re delighted to welcome Olivia to our Canadian team and look forward to working closely with her as she helps build out the capabilities of our new Montréal office,” said Stephen Shore, office managing partner for Littler’s Toronto and Montréal offices. “Employers in Canada face a complex patchwork of provincial employment regulations, which makes local insight and customized guidance critical. Olivia’s arrival marks an important milestone in our broader strategy to deliver top-tier counsel to employers across the country.”

Girouard received her LL.L from the University of Ottawa and her J.D. from the University of Sherbrooke. She served as a lecturer at École de technologie supérieure in Montréal from 2021 to 2024, where she taught courses related to health, safety, and personnel management. Prior to joining G-P, Girouard spent over six years in private practice at Montréal-based law firm Loranger Marcoux, gaining deep experience across a broad range of labour and employment legal matters.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to establish Littler’s Montréal office and to return to private practice doing the kind of work I enjoy most: advising clients, building relationships, and serving as a trusted partner in navigating workplace challenges,” said Girouard. “Littler’s global platform and collaborative structure set the firm apart in the employment law landscape, but what truly drew me to the firm was the people who genuinely enjoy being part of this dynamic and forward-thinking organization. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to further build the office’s presence and capabilities in this important region.”

Littler maintains a global presence across four continents – North America, South America, Asia and Europe – and offers multinational employers comprehensive legal support on cross-border employment matters, labour relations, dispute resolution, and litigation.
